We Need to Hear From You

Sturgeon Composite High School is undergoing a revision to our school’s Mission, Vision and Values statement. Our staff has been working hard to come up with a draft of what it may be. Please read the draft document and then click on the link below to provide us with your feedback.

Thought Exchange

Attention parents and staff… Sturgeon School Division is working on a new Three Year Education Plan and invites YOU to contribute by sharing your thoughts. This plan outlines specific goals we will pursue over the next three years. Help us better understand what is important to you, both in your school and in the division, by taking part in a two-step “Thought Exchange” process.

STEP 1: From January 6- 14, answer four open-ended questions about education in our schools.

We strongly urge you to submit all your ideas for our school system. Every suggestion will be considered and your feedback will help shape our priorities and the way in which resources are directed in our division and our schools.


School Council Bylaw Committee

The School Council of Sturgeon Composite High School will be creating new Bylaws or Operating Procedures for our School Council.  Our Bylaws were created in May 2001, and we feel that they are not serving us well in their current form.

School Council is creating an ad hoc committee to create the Bylaws / Operating Procedures.  This committee will create a draft that will be provided to the School Council, as well as the school community, for feedback and input before accepted.

This committee is on a volunteer basis, and we anticipate the committee will run from December 2015 until May 2016.  We anticipate no more than 6 meetings.  Once the new Bylaws / Operating Procedures have been accepted, this committee will no longer be necessary.

We anticipate the new Bylaws / Operating Procedures to be in effect before the end of the 2015 – 2016 School Year.  Meetings will be scheduled in consultation with the members on this committee.

Parental Feedback Needed

Sturgeon School Division is seeking parental feedback on two new draft policies: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion D/III/1 and Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity D/III/2. Please see both of the supporting documents Board Regulation Administration 5 and Request for Feedback for additional information.

Online Fee Payments (NEW!)

New this year! School fees and transportation fees can be paid online via
the parent portal. We can still process School fees in person, however transportation fees must be paid online or in person at the Sturgeon School Division Office.
