Special Education


Centralized Programs

Sturgeon Composite High School is the site for two specialized Special Education programs - Life Skills and Senior Challenge. The Life Skills program supports students with diagnosed developmental disabilities and Challenge supports students with severe learning disabilities. Both programs are available through specific criteria and an intake process. Please contact Dr. Mary McGregor, Sandra Brenneis or Tina Hayes at 780.939.4341 for further details.


Special Needs

Students who require accommodations or an individualized learning plan to address their specific learning or medical needs are addressed individually by contacting Cherie McKeever - Special Education Coordinator at 780.973.3301. Please have all relevant documentation available.


Knowledge and Employability (K&E)

K&E Courses - Students who would benefit from Knowledge and Employability courses (see Alberta Education Website at http://education.gov.ab.ca should make an appointment to see Cherie McKeever - Special Education Coordinator/Counsellor at 780.973.3301. Each application will be reviewed independently as informed consent forms and an educational plan are required.


New Registrations

Please contact the school at 780.973.3301 for an appointment to review our school information, Alberta high school diploma requirements and the student's previous educational background, progress and programming. Please have the most recent report card, custody documents if applicable and a birth certificate copy for your registration.
