Physical Education & CALM

Physical Education

The emphasis in this pis to expose students to a wide variety of sports and activities. Activities will enable individuals to develop the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. Students will have the opportunity to increase their fitness through participation in the following dimensions: games, dance, types of gymnastics, individual activities and Alternative Environments (i.e. snow shoeing, x-country skiing, etc.).

Note: Physical Education 10  is required for a high school diploma.

Career and Life Management (CALM)

The aim of senior high school Career and Life Management (CALM) is to enable students to make well informed, considered decisions and choices in all aspects of their lives and to develop behaviours and attitudes that contribute to the well-being and respect of others, now and in the future. This course includes presentations, demonstrations and activities. CALM is the core course for health literacy at the senior high level in Alberta.

Note: CALM  is required for a high school diploma.
