The Graduation Council is an elected group of students, who with an advisory team of teachers, plan the Graduation Ceremony which is on May 19, 2012 at 1:00PM at the Winspear Center in Edmonton.

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY A STUDENT:
  • MUST pay the $60 grad ceremony fee by November 4th, 2011. The ceremony fee will increase to $75.00 after November 4th, 2011.  The ceremony fee is charged to provide each graduate with a diploma cover, LifeTouch photo on the Winspear stage, their picture in the composite picture posted in the hallway and published in the local newspapers, ticket to grad ceremony, and a light lunch at the Winspear.
  • MUST have completed 80 credits by the end of Semester I and be enrolled at SCHS in the courses necessary to complete his/her graduation requirements in semester II.
  • Shall be responsible for providing documentation by February 28th for any work experience and/or special projects in progress and filing a detailed timeline to fulfill requirements.
  • Students must have demonstrated diligence towards completion of requirements.
  • Shall be responsible to ensure that all credits from correspondence and Distance Education courses are completed and graded by February 28th of the graduating year.
  • Shall demonstrate a positive attendance and performance record and fulfill the expectations of a student at SCHS.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE DAY OF GRAD:
Please note for making hair appointments, booking limousines, etc on May 19, students need to be at the NO LATER than 11:00 am for rehearsal. All performers, speakers and readers will be required to arrive at grad for the 10:00 am rehearsal.

INFORMATION REGARDING GRAD PHOTOS:
All graduating students are required to have a grad photo taken. All grads are required to book an appointment to have a picture taken.

Photos will take place November 21-25.
Retakes are scheduled for February 15-17.

We will be collecting a $20 sitting fee if you intend to purchase LifeTouch photographs; the session is no charge if the student is only having the photo taken for the yearbook. This cheque must be made out to LifeTouch.

Boys are required to wear a white or light colored dress shirt with a tie. LifeTouch supplies the cap and gown for the pictures.

Appointments will be taken, and grad ceremony and photo fees will be collected by last name on the following dates:
A-K – November 1st
L-R – November 2nd
S-Z – November 3rd    

PLEASE MAKE TWO SEPARATE CHEQUES OUT TO:
Sturgeon Composite High School for the ceremony fee ($60.00)
LifeTouch if you wish to pay for a sitting fee ($20.00)
